If you are tempted to go and buy that fabulously expensive orange speaker cable, just nip to your local electrical wholesaler and buy the same thing for a fraction of the price, as used for electrical appliances like mowers that are used outdoors. If it can power my Mountfield (ooer) fifty feet from the back door it can certainly power your speakers.

Errr that's exactly what QUAD did, in my set-up I use 4 x 5metre lengths of twin 79 strand cost 79p a metre so total cost was £15.80,
I also needed 8 plugs at @ £2.50 from QUAD as although they look like 'banana plug' holes in the amps are actually shorter and the dedicated ones fit much better.
EDIT - These, they have an S shaped metal plate that runs in a slot cut down the centre that makes better contact.
