It happened again last night. I'd only eaten about a third of a 200g bar of dark hazelnut when i began to feel drowsy. I tried to fight it but it was if i'd been given sedation before an operation. I woke up a few hours later, absolutely covered in melted chocolate and hazelnuts! I'd prepared myself before, knowing this might happen,by putting on an old t-shirt and shorts, not wanting to ruin anything decent. However, the t-shirt and shorts were that covered in the stuff that i had to take them off and chuck them on the floor. My dog was straight in there, licking the stuff off. This has been happening to me for a few years now. I eat chocolate then it knocks me out! I once had a small bar on a bike ride, thinking the sugar content would give me energy, but no,i had to stop riding and walk around to keep myself from falling asleep. I mentioned this to my GP once. He laughed and said it wasn't possible. He said if i'd eaten a very large amount, the blood would rush to the stomach to help in the digestion, which could make me feel slightly drowsy as the blood isn't reaching my brain and stuff, but it shouldn't quite knock me out.
