Is competing in Time trials "racing"

As the title implies, is time trialing considered to be a form of "racing" or not?

Yes...it might be dull compared to bunch racing but it's still a form of racing.

Aren't there some historical legal niceties, whereby TTing in the UK was a way of racing without actually racing on the roads.

But that aside, yes, of course it is. Why not? "Race of truth" and all that

That's a good point, I happen to think yes it is racing, but are you allowed to "race" on public roads with other traffic? I only ask this because I know what happens when you put a number on your back...........
