OK say I was too lazy to hit Google and find this out for myself (about to start cooking....) What, if any, speed sensor set-up can I use with my Garmin edge touring?
Any ant+ sensor. I'll post some links when I'm back on the pooter if someone else doesn't.

None. The normal Touring unit does not have ANT. The Touring Plus is only compatable with Heart rate monitor.

I've never used a gps with autopause ( my spell checker insists that I really mean autopsy) but I guess that it closes one segment and opens another. So if you're using GPX files you just need to seek and destroy pairs of < / trkseg > < trkseg > tags and thus put all of the points into one big happy segment.

Of course, if you don't use GPX files, or use some kind of automagic uploading, then this post will have been utterly pointless.

Whaddya mean "what's new?" ;)

He's right. I was going to double check as I couldn't recall if the plus had Ant+ but it doesn't and isn't speed sensor compatible. Sorry. Back to the drawing board.
