Yep they keep trying to raise cash to restore the 'inclined Plane' but don't forget the Lock flight at Foxton was derelict and impassable until fairly recentlyImpressive! For an example of a rail lift system in the UK there is (was) the Foxton Inclined Plane near Leicester.
