So tonight i have to stay up till well after midnight to see in another New Year.Well to be honest i would rather be in bed by 10-30 with my book.
Don't get me wrong i can socialize,i approached people for ten years,during my time as a Cycle team leader.Asking for money.Going to presentations.I spoke with numerous people at Vernon's Funeral.But this bonhomie at midnight turns me cold.It's just another day,in a week of over indulgence.
So am i the only one,or are there a few more.

No celebrations for me. Just another evening, reading, music etc. Bed at usual time, hopefully asleep well before midnight.

well i have been told we are watching the Harry Potter film , so i can be certain that i will be snoozing through that and the new year

I lost interest in new years eve a long time ago, in the past I've often stayed up just to please other people but this year I have the lurgie so most likely early to bed.

We are going out for the first time in the 26 years we have been together. The local pub, invitation only, a glass of fizz when we arrive, two bands and a free burger late on. If we don't really enjoy it then we'll not bother again.

We're going to stay the night in our friends house. Good few drinks and let the kids all play and stay up together.
It's a good excuse to get together with friends or family and have a laugh.
If most of your time is taken up with the daily grind of work, it's great to have a reason to relax and have a bit of fun.

Not the only one, things change as we pass through the different phases of life.
Although, I still look for puddles to splash through when I get a new pair of wellies

We've spent NYE with the same couple for years, but they separated recently. Mrs Cube tells me we're going g for a meal with another couple tonight, and are invited to a pub afterwards to see in the New Year. Neither of us are thrilled at the thought of being in a pub we don't know with folk we haven't met, so it's looking good like Jools Holland and a measure or two of my Christmas Ardbeg. Quite looking forward to it!

It's a night where a lot of people enjoy meeting friends and celebrating and if that's what you like then just go for it. To those that it has no special meaning then just go to bed and enjoy a good sleep.

We are out to my sister in law's for a party with family and friends, we take turns of hosting and it's always better when it's in someone else's house.

I'll still be up early for club hangover ride then a lazy afternoon watching movies with the family.

A mix of feelings for me. We used to go to London to see it in for maybe 8 out of 10 years and while the experience was great...it was getting a bit wild, potentially dangerous with so many people crammed in.
Prior to that we had a quiet few years, prior to that we had a good circle of friends so we'd take turns and throw a party.
The last couple have been quiet nights in and I suspect that's the way forward for us. Watch the TV, the hogmanay programme with the annoying Jules Holland, have a beer, toast the new year between us and bed.
