Is it me or is it still pretty gusty?

Still a bit on the chilly side first thing, usually well into shorts by this time of year. Felt like a bit of a wimp wearing longs, but soon felt better after seeing other cyclists wrapped up for artic conditions! Don't think I wear that much gear in the dead of winter.
.

The Garmin was showing 6C when I left work this morning, by the time I got home (44min) it was down to 1C, this is April it should be warmer!!
Problem is journey in last night was done at 16C, but the forecast for this morning was cold, so I sweated like an idiot going in so I'd be warm coming home.

Are we really on the last day of April?

I'm just working on the principle that when it goes away I'll be much quicker.

I'm thinking that, I've done a lot of hard work fighting against the wind this year, at home I've had to put an extra bolt on the big gates out the back as the wind kept working the other bolt loose, kept finding the gates flapping in the breeze.

The wind here is around 8 mph i have been able to hammer it first time in weeks, got my best avg yet ^_^
The wind must have been with me tonight or there was very little of it because my commute home which was taking 42 minutes I did tonight in 35. Though I did spend much of it on the drops and really pushed myself

I ride north to south in the morning and opposite in the evening.

Okay speed has dropped I'll give it that.

Yes it is still windy here aswell, I am slower than I was 6 months ago, though part of that is increasing age and the stark realisation that I won't be the next Bradley!

I'd love a wind direction that varies like that. I have a NNW commute in the morning and the reverse in the evening.

Time you enjoyed wasting was not wasted
Going north on the local Coast Road on Sunday I hit 32.4 mph according to the max speed on my cycle computer, struggled to get above 12 mph going the other way. Did the same today in a much lighter wind, max speed of 22.2 mph, but a much more pleasant all round ride, nice sunshine, not too much headwind resistance. Hopefully this is the start of better conditions....at long last!!

The wind was back this morning and was cold as well, -2 at 7am and I left for work at 7:30am so couldn't have got much warmer by then

Windier than yesterday here in Edinburgh but thankfully not as cold. Another slog against it on the way to work this morning, but the tailwind home should be nice again.

Freaked out a motorbike rider yesterday by keeping pace with him in traffic for the length of Ferry Road, doing 30 - 35. Flat road, strong tailwind and energy in the legs = fun!
