There is no end on the info on CC: I never knew the existence of "left" and "right" foot socks!
This fact is more abnormal than the counting, imo!

I've got a pair of left and right navigation socks, red and green, port and starboard see - so red is port and goes on the left foot and green, starboard on the right, or is it the other way round...

About nine pairs of thick socks for cycling/skiing/walking
About six pairs of thin socks for "smart occasions" (largely unused)
One pair of "waterproof" Sealskinz for FNRttC

I ruthlessly cull socks with holes and their intact partners.

Our son takes no notice of whether 2 socks match when he puts socks on, so it doesn't affect his mental state to think to sort socks... which strangely freaks Mrs A_T out completely... you can see smoke emerging as she tries to get her head around the concept.

NONE of the 3 blokes in my house care in the slightest if their socks match. And they all share. Freaks me out. I buy pink/obviously girl's socks so no one borrows them!
