Is it odd to have a Hybrid and a Road Bike

I can't use the bmx yet, it is in the back garden waiting for me to fit some brake cables to it......
So you are only missing, a fixed gear road bike, single speed MTB, classic road bike, classic MTB, folder and one for the turbo trainer.
No interest in fixed gear, folding or turbos but I do also have a classic (1991) Raleigh road bike and a 1995 rigid steel framed MTB

I ride road bikes and hybrid bikes. I ride my hybrid when I'm riding with friends who prefer a relaxed pace or when I want to go out on trails inaccessible to a road bike. A cheaper hybrid I find useful for trips to the shop and such when you might need to lock the bike up, and potentially risk it getting stolen or damaged.

Just have the bikes that suit your needs - if that's a road and hybrid so be it

I have 4 bikes - no mudguards road bike, dyno-hub + mudguards tourer/audax, off road cross check and fixed work bike. Someone elses 4 bikes would be a different selection

I sometimes wave to many roadies when on my road bike to only be ignored as well......

I had no problem with roadies waving when I had drop handle bars on my road bike. As soon as I converted to straight bars on the same bike I noticed a distinct drop in "wave returns" Is there a class system prevailing in cycling?

I expect all cyclists to bow and doff their caps for aristocracy such as I, and lady riders should curtsey.

Most are fine but some are like that. There are some roadies near me who have waved when I have been in proper lycra cycling gear on my road bike, but when I have been in my civvies just for a short trip have just given me odd looks instead of returning my wave. Cycling should be inclusive of everyone, no whatever what their bike or ability level, so I try to wave to all cyclists.

How can anyone manage with ONLY a road bike and a hybrid? I have a hardtail MTB, a proper road bike, a carbon disc braked 'all-road' bike (which I consider to be a realist's road bike) and a hybrid. The hybrid gets used the most by far. As well as being my commuter it is often the default bike for many other rides. I did a mahoosive 185 miles ride in one day last year, guess which bike I used?

Hey Skolly, what is the all road bike?....

In fact, name them all. Your stable sounds like mine (see sig line) except I have two hardtails although the Forme is now the workhorse for nipping into town and locking up. The others don't leave my sight.

I only started cycling 18months ago with a Hybrid to see if the hobby stuck, so just the one... But now I am cycling more and signed up to a few big rides(100k+100m), looking to up with figure and get me a road bike!! Just gotta wait for the next payrise in April and find the right one :okay:

Then maybe other cyclists will start waving back when I say hello :hello:
