I know he is referring to someone else, that's pretty clear from his comments.

It's just a bizarre thing to post about a stranger's movements on an internet forum, and I was wondering what the motivation was.

I'm not gonna second-guess the meaning behind his semi-cryptic posts. My comment was a fair comment, based on the information provided.

He was pointing out an observation. As was I.

Well in future please be less aggressive in your observations. Thanks.

Sounds to me like a wonabe cycle commuter,,,^_^

Does this person wear cycling gear as well?
Full on lycra & SPDs - now that would be "special"!!

And I've realised I presumed the bike was a Brompton-esque type - would be even better if it wasn't...and they need to reattach the front wheel once out of the car..

IF
you drive to the station car park. Get the bike out of the back of the vehicle & ride across the car park to the station entrance. Catch the train to where you're working(or as close as possible) & then do 100-200 yards from the station to your workplace.
Ooh, ooh, I like these. This is one of those lateral thinking puzzles, isn't it?
Maaaaaybe he likes to go for a bike ride at lunch-time.
Is that the right answer?

He's using his bike (good thing) and may or may not be using it when you are not watching him - that's his business. Better than driving 100m around the corner to park nearer the tube station which I see lazy people do all the time.

I reckon he's on a cycling related bonus scheme fromhis employers, turns up with his bike and gets the benefits without the actual cycling nonsense

Think you might be right.

No offence taken. I simply posted what I'd seen.
I've said elsewhere on here I suffer from/with epilepsy & sometimes after a fit it isn't, in my opinion, safe to cycle. So the bus & train are used. Seen him more than once arrive at the station, Remove his bike from the back of the car, at one end of the carpark & cycle to the station building. I'm simply heading the same direction myself.
Once at Leeds, its out of the station & away down Neville Street, to work.

My only assumptions being that he can say he arrived by bike & that the reverse journey is made in the evening.

Bike is not a folder & he does wear cycling gear. Not certain on the pedals though, I'll have to see/check next time.

Wonder if he's one of the chaps that drove up to the top of the climbs on the tour of Britain, got his bike out to lean on then, when the tour had passed, put bike back in car and drove off?

The answer is obvious.

The chap has fallen for a cyclist in the office (Possibly classic 33) and is aiming to impress,/start a conversation that'll lead to more amorous adventures..
Its working, he's already caught your eye.

Nah, can't be that. I've only seen him at the two stations. Also we work for seperate companies in seperate buildings..
IF he is trying to impress, then his making a bad effort.

There is a saddle on his bike by the way.

I'm about 6 miles from station at home. Drive with Brompton in boot and park at station. Unfold and cycle 300yds to station then refold on platform . On arrival in London unfold and cycle two miles to office.

Could cycle from home to station but I'd (a) lose time advantage I've gained by using the bike in London c/p to tube or bus and (b) add enough distance to mean I'd need cycling 'gear' instead of travelling in work wear of slacks and shirt/tie with fleece or cag,

OTOH car park will soon be £10/day.
