Well it comes with windows 7 64 bit and has an 8gb maximum memory (unlike my newish works pc for software development which has 32 bit windows and a 4gb
Max so will have a reduced life expectancy) with an adequate harddrive and reasonable processor which will be adequate for your needs.

we still cant make our mind up and , know base pc is starting to whirr heavily a lot of the time so might end up replacing that instead
