Is Lord Coe's neck made of brass?

He did that several years ago but still is in the public eye. Even more surprising is the noise he made about the Rio Ferdinand missed test affair and called for lifetime bans yet he doesn't seem to think there is a problem in athletics.
Another reason why I think we need to stop looking at this in Cycling, Football, Athletics and start an inquiry across all sports

The old phrase "power corrupts..........etc" comes to mind.
I truly believe that the vast majority of them (if not all) are total s***s.

Coe's done well for a lad who went to a Secondary Modern School* that's for sure. And such lovely enunciation too. Not a trace of Stratford nor Sheffield in his accent.

*according to Wikipedia.

Aye. Freddie - he's a stagiere at one of the French teams.
They're estranged aren't they, Freddie in Australia?

Not sure. Steve has lived in Oz for years though, so l'd assumed Freddie had grown up there with him.

Interesting that before turning to cycling, Freddie was a runner at the University of Oregon.

It seems not. I may have read something like this and misremembered it.

What did his father make of him turning his back on running? ‘When I started cycling, we weren’t speaking,’ says Freddy. ‘It was a strange time, it lasted about a year, which was tough on both of us.’

His parents are divorced and while his mother is still in Noosa, Queensland, his father lives down in Melbourne with his new partner. ‘When I went to Europe last year, my dad and I got back in contact,’ Freddy continues. ‘He sees the way athletics is at the moment and he saw how difficult it was for me to break through.

‘He’s super supportive about my cycling — and excited more than anything. When I speak to him I can sense that.’

Not sure what you mean, his accent doesn't\didn't bother me.

I think Smarmy is a good description

ingratiating and wheedling in a way that is regarded as insincere or excessive.
