I've been blown off the podium 😭 I think everyone above me and just below me gained loads of points on me, and my secret weapon Campenaerts has gone home before the TT 😭

I'm particularly disappointed with my secret weapon Julien Bernard of Lidl Trek. He only cost 4 but was going to be a real winner with the assist points he'd get from all the stages that Mads Pedersen would win.

Waves in Søren Kragh Andersen. Cost two more and has scored 36 fewer.

Congrats to anyone that's got Torstein Træen though, scoring over 150 per cost point so far, the most effective use of funds by a huge margin.

Velogames spain:
I had 5 of the top 6 riders home on yesterdays stage, 3rd highest stage score overall
Still trailing Bramble Wheelers overall though. Could be a tight finish, might come down to Philipsen vs Pedersen on the line in Madrid!

Ouch. Down to 14/25 for me. My hope was proper mid table and I had been hovering thereabouts. 14th is particularly mediocre mid table mediocrity.

I had four of those (including the top 3), and still only came 6th in the Cyclechat league.

The problem was that almost everybody had several of the vey top riders. My rubbish fall from the podium to utter mediocrity was despite having Vingegaard, Mads P and Hindley. I also had Jorgenson 1172 pts and Philipsen 1065 pts who both scored decently, but not very good value. It's all about the lesser riders in the end.

you can actually squeeze Joao and Jonas into same team if you dump Mads (as his points per £ arent that great)
unsurprising sprinters were poor value, it looked that way before the start and then with particularly the last stage not having sprint points handed out. Jonas wasnt actually great value, but just amassed a load of points

Just for info, outside of our Cyclechatting bubble, this was the winning team for Velogames as a whole. They're just 1,513 points off the perfect score, which is incredibly good imo
Congrats on your overall victory @T4tomo - that you managed it with one of the thirteen riders in the race that scored zero points is quite something, though picking a Cofidis rider was always going to be risky (four of the thirteen no-scorers are from them)
