Is there anyone who can do alterations to Gore-Tex trousers?

Hi,

I've got a lovely new pair of Gore waterproof trousers that are simply too long in the upper leg. (Fine through body and from knee down. It's just the area from hip to knee that needs shortening which will probably involve a bit of re-shaping to the crotch and re-enforced seat area.)

I've asked the highly recommended seamstress in our village if she does work on performance wear and she said 'No'. I am not sure if it's the fabric or the quite fitted shapes and darts and knees (such as the articulated knees) that is the challenge.

Has anyone had alterations like this done and could recommend someone? I'm in south Bedfordshire (Dunstable / Luton) / western Hertfordshire (Harpenden / St Albans) but work in central London.
