Back in the '80s, my driving instructor told me of a lad (on his 17th birthday) turned up with his father to take his test in an expensive car.

The father got out and the examiner got in. On starting the car, the lad turned the radio on up to full volume.

The examiner failed him without having moved an inch and told him to come back when he was more mature.

Cue one furious father.

Even more worrying was the fact that the lad had 4 passengers with him when he was driving at twice the legal speed limit.

There's a chav down our street who lost control of the car and hit a bollard, the day after he passed his test. Got banned for a few years because he was high at the time.

I was at a wedding that lasted for just a few minutes, there was a bust-up outside the registry office shortly afterwards and that was that - I think that was a record

I don't think it is particularly unbelievable. Someone I grew up with drove stretches of his driving test with just one hand, with the other arm hanging out of the window. The examiner didn't say anything during the test. Once back at the test center the examiner told my neighbour he had failed the test, and that he would have to repeat it, to show he was able to drive with both arms.

I went to pick up a brand new car from a main dealer on behalf of the company I worked for.
The smarmey guy in the garage said "I will have to reverse it out then hand it over".
Smacked it straight into a brick pillar. So it never even got out of the garage.
