Down a hill or on the flat? <Please don't say flat, please don't say flat.>

I haven't done it in a while but i could get up to 40mph on the flat as long as i didn't have a head wind.

I like it when the kids take off on their BMX's or whatever, pedalling like good'uns, and the way they keep looking back to see how far ahead they are. I just hang back a bit so the youngster has to stay ahead or lose face, and they get more and more desperate as their enegy fails.
I do that on skates. Mind you, I do it to adult cyclists too

It does, enjoy it while you can, but I can visualise a post on here in 20 years time posted by the cyclist who scalped some old f**t who challenged him at the lights.

I'm deffo old enough to be his dad....so 20 years time I'll be 'nearly' 61.....I hope to be still spinning the wheels.

It is a scalp but way way down in the pecking order of things. At the top of course is a car going 30...

I do that quite often on 1 of my routes, I can get up to 40mph+ on a very nice and long descent.
