I am getting bad chain skip under load, and I think it might only be happening in the big ring. When it skips, the crank slips with my foot ending up at 180° , almost resulting in an accident at traffic lights.

This doesn't really have many miles on it, probably no more than 10,000 but I did change the chain and cassette until very late, and the teeth on the ring looked a lot different when new. They seem more rounded now?

tried new chain & cassette and it didn't work. No stiff links. Tried a different wheel. Indexing seemed ok from what I can see.

It looks like you left the worn chain on too long going by the wear shown in the pic with the pen!
You can see the wear at the tips of the teeth near the pen.
I would say it's time for a new ring.
