Well, it would make me think twice but I reckon a genuine thieve would be undeterred by that.
 
The City of London Police ran something similar using "Smart Water" that indelibly links the individual with the item.

The article suggests that Burglaries have been effectively reduced using Smart Water as a deterrent iwth reductions between 49% and 70% in some trials
 
My favourite and simple way is attaching a 500 Lb breaking strain fishing line attached to the bike and a solid object.

Stops the bike effectively, but as it can cause injury is illegal

If there really is a trap bike in the area, why advertise the fact? If I was a bike thief I would be thinking that was a bluff, and a licence to steal a bike.
