Hi everyone, so i bought my first set of cycling shoes and pedals and ive ridden out on them twice, one short ride home from the lbs and 25 miles tonight. The only time they have touched the ground is walking a few yards to my door and 2 close calls where i forgot to clip out . Should they look like this only after 1 real ride out?

I'd say probably as it'll be cheap plastic

yes.
If you want longer lasting get cleat covers as tissot said or change over to mtb cleats, pedals and shoes.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
If they're the cheap version of SPD-SL cleats then possibly.

I get 6 months out of a set of Shimano ones. Even though they look bad they will still work.

But i have walked about 15 yards...i walked literally a couple steps to my door. How long do they generally last then? and what brands dont get trashed so easily just putting my feet down. thanks guys

Thanks for the help ppl. How long do you think i have left on the ones i just posted?
A good few months .... they do take a thrashing before they need renewing
Try and walk as if you are on the moon lift your feet up/small steps ...

Fast and careful!
That's the real beauty of mtb cleats, I have to walk 400 metres up a dog rough flint track to get to the road, and still mine last set lasted 2 years
