What do you do when your boss has a go for no good reason and makes you feel like quitting your job?

I can't quit because my family needs the cash so I need to get over it fast.

Any advice welcome.

Request a private meeting to sort out your differences, talking problems through is sometimes the easiest solution.

I've no advice - only sympathy.

It's a little easier when you're living with mum and dad and you've only got No.1 to look after - you can, quite literally, walk away. But when you've get responsibilities it's a different kettle of fish altogether.

Are you able to go out for the afternoon - arrange a sales call, visit a client, etc.? Something to relieve the stress?

start looking elesewhere, but also make yourself invaluable in your current job. then when you find a new job, say byebye and leave him in the s**t.

If you really can't stand it anymore, start looking for another job. You could avoid asking your boss for a reference (in case he gets nasty about it) by asking your HR dept. for one, or your bosses boss.

You have my utmost sympathy. I'm okay at the moment but the majority of my bosses seem to have ranged from incompetent to downright vindictive.

Go for an extended bike ride when you finish. Best way to unwind yourself.

You'll end up wondering why you ever got into a huff.

look elsewhere but don't be overly brash about it. in the meantime write down any comments he made and date them. request a quiet meeting and openly record it using your phone or Dictaphone or whatever.
you'd be very surprised how this can go.

I'm still paying the psychological price 20 years on for staying too long in a job that was doing my head in, so I'd say ride your bike to unwind, and while you are doing that, plan your exit strategy!

Ring Acas's Helpline- they can help you confidentially with problems and give you advice how to sort it out with your employer if it gets to that.

My solution was to annoy my boss just enough every day so he couldnt sack me and the company eventually made me redundant then I went self employed with the money.

That was in 2004 and I have never looked back since.
