Isle of Man TT 'Ride-Along'

To help promote (not that it really need it!!) the organisers of this years IoM TT have released this film of Michael Dunlop on a lap filmed last year
It's only on a SuperSport though (600)

Still absolutely fascinating to watch

Mindst you, the Mark Higgins lap in the Impreza a few years ago was also very impressive (particularly the fish-tailing @ 130MPH!!!)

And when it all goes horribly wrong...............

Mark Higgins Subaru lap, @ 19:37!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Dunlop holds the '600 SuperSports' lap-record @ 17:35 (average = 128MPH!!!)

Considering the comparative lack off acceleration in the car, & inability to place so precisely on the road, that time is incredible

I can only wonder what Colin McRae could have done in the same car............

I went to the IOM for many years in my Motorcycling days, there truly is nothing like hurtling over the mountain on Mad Sunday scaring your self half to death on the long fast flat out bends.
One day I will get over and cycle the course.

My mate from Uni was killed on the TT course on Mad Sunday in the early nineties, no fault of his, He was riding pillion on a bike that was hit by another bike, he wasn't even that big a motorcycle fan, he was working there during his placement year which had just finished and had stayed for the spectacle. I remember only too well the upsetting phone call from his mum to tell me the news. She was having to phone everyone in his phone book.
