Isle of Wight, urgent help needed!

I know this is in the wrong forum but as it's urgent I need as many people to see it as poss who might be able to help!
I'm visiting my 95 year old grandma on the island, I'm only here for 48 hrs so need to sort fast. She is registered blind and lives on her own, as she is blind the only entertainment she has is her 'talking books' unfortunately her tape player has broken. The lead from the 6 volt transformer has a broken cable. I'm desperate to replace this for her before I leave, can anybody with a knowledge of the island give me an idea where might sell these? I'm going maplins today and also 'bells!' Electrical in shanklin but if these are not successful I'm looking for alternatives.

There is a maplins in Newport. Take the charger and they will definitely have one to match

Unfortunately not, cable snapped at point of entry in to transformer plug.

One thought with the universal chargers....

My MiL is also registered blind, and has problems identifying plug ends, a multi charger with a number of options could be an issue, if you can get one that only has a single end


Also I know you have limited opportunity, but white cables are easier for the visually challenged to see

I would try to break the transformer open but I guess a glued or taped together transformer is a bad idea for somebody who might not see it's split open.
