Lots of children ride the 55k randonee route. It's a challenge for them, with some climbs in there to make them feel heroic!

I would totally agree Wightdragon, just as the 3 Hills Killer MTB event is a fantastic achievement for kids to complete.

I coach juniors at a local rowing club and nothing gives me more pleasure than to see youngsters enjoying the sport, and cycling is no different.

Hi Robeh,

As you say, the island is a great place to ride, but yes, the roads are probably not the best. Things are getting better (slowly) with an extensive resurfacing and engineering programme.
