Nice weather and half term mean the roads were a lot quieter as well:wahhey:

The warmth on tonight's commute - feels like spring in the air. I even unzipped my top to cool down a bit. A fast ride home thanks to a lovely westerly wind.

Boo hoo, I'm obviously living in the wrong parts, not got into double figures here yet, not temperature wise anyway. The wind can be very obliging in double figures. Having said that the wind has been fairly decent the last few days and I was a rebel this morning and walked to the car without my hat and gloves (yes I was being lazy but I was having a "rest day" after the weekend jaunt. In the afternoon I looked longingly out the window and regretted not cycling in as it was lovely weather).

Has been nice. Went for a run Sunday at dusk, wasn't particularly looking forward to one, but stuffed myself a bit a dinner so thought I better. Really enjoyed it - warm, could almost smell the cut grass and blossom in suburbia!

Today was great. Mild and dry. I didn't need my long trousers, and got by with just a wicking t-shirt as a base layer under my lightweight waterproof. Summer gloves. It was all good.

It was so enjoyable I managed to turn my six-and-a-bit miles trip in to work into a nine-and-a-bit miles trip.

Though my average speed was rubbish, even for me .. due mostly to my legs not wanting to play having had over a week off. I managed to force them to work up a bit of a sweat a couple of times, interspersed with long periods of sitting back and enjoying the ride.

Only trouble is that now things are improving, weather and light wise its brought the fair weather cyclists out of hibernation, bike shed was looking a bit full and someone was in the showers this morning, have had them all to myself since October !

I hate that. We've had a big recruitment and I used to be the only regular lady cyclist. Now there is another who sometimes cycles in but usually walks (and sometimes runs in). So I now have competition for the shower!

We don't have showers at work  so I stop at the Leisure Centre half a mile up the road from work. I have noticed that the gym (and so changing room and showers) have been a whole bunch busier since Christma, so am guessing this is the New Year's Resolutions which will hopefully all get bored soon.
