It is a bad pass but perhaps just a mistake, lack of maturity, lack of training....just one of those things? I understand your anger.

Exactly my thoughts, perhaps the driver was concentrating on the cyclists on the left and failed to spot the oncoming cyclist. I would hope the driver got a real shock when she realised how close she was to the oncoming cyclist and has already learned from the experience.

As Snorri says, she may well have been doing what she thought best there. The toot seemed friendly to me, it may just be a question of educating her with some tact and diplomacy and that picture may go a long way.

I've lived in a small community, so I can guess at what's milling around in your head but then again some people live by feuds and gossip, no matter how you approach this, there might be an element of whispering against you.

You have to do something, because if you don't and something happens to another cyclist - or rider or pedestrian - you'll feel responsible.

Ride in a tighter group. You are going to get daft manouvers like that being so far apart.

But the first one needs words. Unfortunately you should have done it immediately to have the maximum impact.
