I'd have no issue with having an additional bank holiday for England, to take us from having the second lowest number of them in the world, to being on a Saturday.
An awful lot of jobs compared to decades ago treat Saturdays as a normal working day and Sundays are steadily heading in the same direction.
This would give those Saturday workers the day off without using annual leave, possibly giving them a 2+ day weekend break, or even more if they work selected days part time.
Don't work Saturday? You get an extra day added to your annual leave.
