Glad it wasn't just me. If "I heard a rumour that Cadbury is bringing out an oriental chocolate bar. Could be a Chinese Wispa." was the funniest thing this year, I am glad I wasn't there

The winning jokes have to be one liners, that stand alone, so a long rambling joke with a punchline wouldnt work.

I thought the rumours of a Chinese Whisper joke was funny. It's simple yet clever and seemingly no one had ever thought of it before.

Anyone who has ever been to a stand up show will know that jokes are much funnier in a live theatre than read cold on a computer screen.

If you can do better, please show us.

I think a lot is in the way its said , the delivery of a joke is everything.

If you read jokes from the legends of comedy on paper they are no where near as funny as hearing by the comic themselves.

A good comedian can have you laughing before they have actually said anything.

Why? We are not touting ourselves as stand up comedians.

Anyone else spent 5 minutes reading all the other years' jokes... some of them are 'laugh out loud' funny- that didn't happen with this years' ones- though some of them are clever. I agree with DD, good comedians have already caught their audience before they say anything.

I liked 'The Boy with Tape on his Face's routines the first time round but he seems to have disappeared.

"The funniest joke" has to be a one liner which can be "funny" in isolation, which is why the top 10 for this award always looks like an explosion in a Christmas cracker factory.

There is undoubtedly some really funny stuff at the festival, i heard Norman Lovett on Radio 6 this week and his show sounded worth a watch.

I think i will wait for the Perrier award to be announced (or whatever it is called these days).
