im assuming you actually know the items bought were actually made in china, japan and "the middle east" and youre not indulging in easy racial stereotyping.

Pretty much certain yes. I may have missed out a few other far eastern countries. But if I can offer examples from my own experience, nearly everything I own has been made in a country that that is not in Europe, or Australalia, USA, Africa, to name a few. So I think it's safe to say that the assumption is fair one.
