Oh my days, the date has been set for the end of June. Four more months of this

I must reiterate I intended is thread as a retreat from the tv and media blitz that's being unleashed, not a debate about the EU -theres a few of those already.

In the interests of accuracy there wasn't an EU vote in '75. The populace were asked to vote on a reciprocal trading arrangement, not what we're looking at now.

In the interests of accuracy they were asked if they wanted to stay in the European Economic Community, not just a reciprocal trading arrangement ;)

Well, write it down boy ......
I heard on radio 4, so it must be true, that each of us will listen to 200 hours of EU vote coverage. What is needed is some kind of form on which you promise not to listen to any of it, which you present to St Peter at the pearly gates. He then sends you back to earth to live out those last 200 hours.
Just think of the benefits, all those times you've gone for a top speed target but bottled out, those downhill Danny Macaskill drops you've wanted to do but lacked the nerve, you'd now be able to do as you wouldn't die because St Peter has promised you an extra 200 hours. Keep a careful eye on the time though.
If I'm honest I'm not sure how to get this to work.

As if the Scottish interdependence referendum wasn't enough, we now have an EU vote coming up. Several months of nothing on telly except people arguing in ever more strident tones. It's already begun tho morning on BBC News...

Can we distract ourselves from this, hide from it, make it go away? What do you do to blank rubbish like this out of your life?

Worst thing is is the SNP are banging on about another independence referendum due to the possible outcome of the EU referendum. I don't know which part of a 'once in a lifetime' referendum the SNP don't get? I really aren't a fan of the SNP. A deceptively aggressive party who's only agenda is independence and not the welfare of the Scottish people.

They've been on about it from before the Independence Referendum last year. One of their scare tactics was to tell the Scots that the rest of the UK would drag them out of the EU. Conveniently ignoring the fact that, as a new independent country, they would not be members of the EU and would have to apply for entry.

I do love the way that an internecine squabble in the Conservative and Hooray Party, fanned by Cameron's fear of the Kippers, is going to dominate the airwaves for the next four months.

I think I'll be entering lots of book raffles.
