Good looking day from the safety of my indoor viewpoint overlooking hazy sunshine on the Pentlands. Experience of this week so far has taught me that it's at least 5 degrees cooler than it looks.

Despite her still needing to attend school for exams and revision immersion days, DD1 is not allowed to board the school bus as she's now classed as a school leaver. I'll be following the bus up there in the knowledge that there's a spare seat on it that she previously occupied.

This ^. Discovered this yesterday evening. After most of the day sorting, tidying, assisting exterior painter bloke, I fell asleep. Then I woke up like I had new Duracell batteries installed. Quick excursion into town followed where I picked up milk and an huge, overpriced chocolate orange Doughnut.
Sun was out and off I went, shorts and a Perfetto into a bitter easterly. On the return, it clouded over and I was bloody frozen - was looking forward to a tail wind and sun on my back. I pedalled like a madman just to keep warm. PB though for that route this year.
Could have stayed in the shower for hours - it was bliss.

Chuffing freezing is all I can say. A quick pre work 30km and after 200m I turned back to swap into full finger gloves.
Feet were also freezing and very painful. I’m now searching how to stretch Giro knitted shoes.

It was bright, sunny and frosty here first thing. It’s now clouded over and looks a bit threatening so just finishing my coffee before planning the day ahead.

Good sleep here, the evening sim racing must have tired me out a bit. May rinse and repeat after work today. Auditors off our backs at last so back to the usual stuff - from home again as we have the plumbers in again upgrading the shower facilities which were getting a bit tired and rickety. As with everyone else, time for coffee...
