We walked along the river Avon this morning for about 4 miles in total and were passed by a bout 30 cyclist's in total and only a handful acknowledged the fact that we either stood still or moved to single file as they approached .

Sadly, I find courtesy and manners seem to be in increasingly short supply these days

My local walking trail is always busier at the weekends and I am fed up meeting large groups strung the whole width that won't budge an inch when they meet you coming the other way. I usually end up nearly walking into either the ditch on one side or the river on the other.

Do you reckon they're the same kind of riders (assuming they were all men) who offer unwanted advice to lady cyclists?

A wee bit OT but Lol, I can remember at a level crossing, a nice older lady held the gate open for me, I said thanks and she smiled back. Her partner a few steps back shouted in my face "YOU COULD HAVE SAID THANKS". She turned round and ripped into him

I was cycling along the canal towpath a while ago and came to a narrow section, with a woman and a dog coming the other way. I stopped and pulled right into the grass to allow her to go past safely. Not only was I not thanked, but I was treated to a lengthy tirade about how cyclists never stop to let her past, how we rude we all are, how fed up of it she is etc... I was too surprised to say anything!
