Joe the cat, star of various previous threads featuring his adventures since he came to live with us just over a year ago, is no more. When I got home from work at 6 o'clock this morning I found him under a parked car on the road outside our house, where he'd obviously been flung after being hit by a car. We've buried him in the garden now and the house seems very quiet. So, cheerio Joe, you'll be missed.

Really sorry to hear that  Looks like a lovely cat very much like my 14 year old moggie, Tom.

Sorry to hear that RT - we took in a stray when the weather turned cold and the 6.00am "wake up and feed me" call is now part of the daily routine which I wouldn't be without for the world.

Oh gosh, I know that feeling all too well with cats and it's the reason I won't have any more, too many have met their end that way. RIP Joe and heartfelt sympathy RT.

Really sorry to hear of your loss

I don't like cats, but having lost two dogs now I know what you're going through. My very best wishes to all of you.

A GF of mine lost her cat and suspected it had been hit by a car. She was very upset so I went round and searched for it. I had a feeling where it would be and sure enough it didn't take me long to find it, lying on the other side of the stone wall it had jumped in terror after being hit, with a broken rear leg. It must have been desperate to get over that wall with a broken leg!

Years before we got a call from a neighbour whose puppy had disappeared, asking if my Mum and we kids could help search the woods and fields for it. Somehow I had a feeling I knew where it had gone so I followed my instinct and found the puppy within five minutes, shivering in a field entrance. Maybe I have a special affinity for lost animals?
