Come on, be fair, are we so good that we never make mistakes on the road when riding? Well, I went for a 21 mile ride this morning and nearly got knocked over twice, at a roundabout, and it was all my fault! First, I misjudged the gap between two cars coming on my right and then forgot to signal I was existing on my right. Both of these faults were my own doing and got a horn full of abuse from both cars. And rightly so too. All I could do was to put my hand up as an apology and be thankful those drivers were alert.
So, are you going to own up to your own mistakes now? Personally, I don't mind admitting it as I don't claim to be perfect. Over to you lot now.

I often try and filter through gaps that turn out to be a little bit too narrow and sometimes clip a wing mirror etc.
Also sometimes you are trying to find a certain street and you can end up holding up traffic etc.
As with the OP, it's a case of put up your hand and admit the mistake.

I'm a pedestrian, a cyclist and a driver, and I make mistakes with all three. C'est la vie.
Personally I don't like the tribalism evident with many cyclists and drivers, I've nothing to do with the vast majority of them and I don't like being associated by default

About 8 years ago, I was with a group of motorbikes on a country road in the FOD.
Went to pass a couple on a big left hander, ran wide and found myself on the wrong side of the road on a tightening radius. The only way I could get back over was to slow right down, and tuck back in.
About 3 winters ago, the roads had a 2" thick layer of ice (compacted snow) on them. this had been polished to a mirror finish, and I was in the 4x4. Had all the diff locks on and in low range. got up to about 20mph, decided to dab the brakes to slow down asI was approaching the end of the road, and they all locked up...20mph was too fast for the conditions, and I slid out of the T junction by about 5ft before I hit gritted tarmac and managed to stop. Nothing coming thankfully, but I would have hit something if it was there. That is one of the very few times I''ve felt true fear behind the wheel. It scared the Bejesus out of me to be totally out of control.....lesson learned
Cycling....nothing noteworthy...have not been beeped at since I've been back on my bike, buthave had some punishment passes

Ok - I made this near fatal mistake when I was 12!
I did something similar one night in a car on Old Street roundabout - for some reason I just didn't see the red light and entered the roundabout. Went perfectly between two cars and managed not to hit anything. Had I been going any faster or had I touched the brakes it would have been a pile up...

Here for rides.
A horn full of abuse? Is that what a car horn is for then?

Cos when I'm driving and someone makes a mistake in close proximity to me I generally get off the gas and on the brakes not on the horn. Just sayin'.....

I've gone over the brow of Blackheath Hill whilst overtaking a truck only to find another truck coming up the hill towards me. It's not very wide. Every time it's happened I've sworn I'll never do it again.

Also as a ped when I lived in Hampstead, I got sick of being beeped by drivers whilst crossing a road they were turning into (happened quite frequently as it was a bit of a rat run). Anyway one evening a guy beeped me and so I walked over to his window "Why don't you read the f'ing highway code you w****r. I've got f'ing right of way and you come round this corner beeping on your f'ing horn. Why don't you just go and f'*** yourself". He looked at me in a terrified kind of way and in a small voice said "I only wanted to ask for directions to the High Street"."Oh just go straight up here, turn left and it's about 100 yards further up" replied I sheepishly.

Exactly, it's petty little people misusing the horn, using it to punish and bully, gets on my tits.
