So after the hassle with the Swytch e-bike conversion kit and the Boardman e-bike that had to go back to Halfords I collected a brand new Specialized Vado on Tuesday. I rode it for an hour or so on Tuesday evening. It's been a bit hot for riding since.

After twisting my ankle on Thursday & a trip to A&E yesterday I now have a rather attractive boot to wear.

I don't think there's going to be much cycling (or walking any distance or driving) for a few weeks. I seem to be fated not to have an e-bike.

I'm trying not to feel sorry for myself. I know there are a lot of people much worse off than me, but...

Oh Anne, a new bike that you can't ride!

Fate is cruel, indeed.

Well congratulations on the new bike and commiserations about the ankle. It'll heal in a few weeks, there will still be plenty of summer left.

We’ll hear back from you when you recover and pick up a puncture on your first pedal out :-)
Get well soon. The suspense will be killing me.

I’m in the same boat at the moment because of an illness that wiped me out and means I can’t stand, walk or sit up for long periods of time as I need to keep my legs elevated to reduce the inflammation and manage the pain.

Had a rubbish year so far. This year started wet/cold/windy which I don’t like cycling in, then I injured my QL muscle (very painful), and now I’ve got an illness which means I can’t ride for at least 6 weeks, and then it’ll be baby steps back up to normal riding.
