Your fault. Wet and windy and just grim up 'ere. Did manage a smile when I saw a car in a ditch on the 'very straight' Manchester Road - how they managed it I'll never know !
Weren't concentrating, car wandered to the side, they jerked the car back into their lane & lost control. Or bombing along at silly speed, hit a bump, this unweights the car enough for it to start sliding & slide into the ditch.
Most drivers can't control at car much above 35-40 mph, they can gently guide it in the right direction. The result is 'the big corner' with a carefully constructed crest mid-turn & lots of painted dots on the tarmac marking certain lines (the instructors know what the dots mean). It's possible to take the corner on the tightest set of markings at 75-100 mph depending on the car, get a novice in something like a Civic type-R & they'll typically spin it at 25-30mph!
