Last night I was in the Brewery Taps near Leeds railway station - I thought that it was a fine place serving a range of fine ales some of them brewed on site.

Then I saw the pork pies.....

Standard sized, 10/10 for appearance, calling my name...

Then I saw the price.

£3.50

I didn't go hungry as I'd more than my fair allocation of calories earlier in the evening. The pricing formed part of a calorie controlled diet for the rest of the evening.

Popped into the West Cornwall Pasty shop in Chester last summer. At c£4 per pasty () I didn't linger and went to Sayers.

Imagine my surprise when I heard recently that they were in financial trouble and were subject to a takeover bid from a group involving former-footballer Danny Mills. At £4 a pasty current footballers will likely be his target audience.
