It's going to be cold tonight...

On Friday and Saturday we planned to get heating installed. Not simple as we are replacing a back boiler with a combi. However, it should have been finished this afternoon.

The wife and kids were sent down south, and I planned to use some of the time to go on a CC ride. Things started going wrong last night when I go the mother of all D&V bugs. No more details honest. So no CC ride for me today.

Despite my viral state the heating engineers were willing to come back today to finish, although I promised to stay out of the way. So I've been feeling poorly with no heating. (Sympathy?!). It turns out that the install was more difficult than they anticipated, and the guys gave up the ghost at 9:30pm promising to be back in the morning. So with the forecast for -5C tonight (probably colder here in the sticks), no heating, no hot water, feeling rough and no wifey to give me sympathy, it'll be a fun night.

Mmm, I wonder if I can wear overshoes in bed!

Not in Scotland. The back boiler was very old, inefficient and was officially unservicable. We couldn't wait for the scheme to come up here.

You are a soft jessie.

And you are neglecting your family. Toughen yourself and them up.

In fact I am a hard man. I knew I was about to be unwell, so rather than pass on the bug, I sent my family away to protect them and in the process sweat it out myself....or should I say freeze it out myself. Anyway it wasn't my 'jessie' that was soft last night....:smile:

Actually it's not that bad. We've just had our double glazing replaced, thank goodness.

Actually I'll be fine, I prefer a 'cool' room. I'm just working out my sad story for the heating enginners tomorrow to see if I can get a sympathy discount...:smile:

Have you got a sleeping bag handy? That might be good to get into and then under the duvet. Might not be so good for a quick exit if the D+V hasn't cleared up.

:ohmy:xx(

Luckily the D&V is on the way out, so to speak, just feeling rough.

Still, the one plus side is that I was supposed to be working tomorrow, but the NHS doesn't want you back until after 48 hours. Although there is heating, of sorts, at work....

oh well if you're on the mend..I retract my sympathy and instead request pictures of you looking like michelin man with a hot water bottle stuffed up your front(giving off steam as it's so cold in the room), wrapped in the sleeping bag akin to a human sausage and with red ringed eyes like the beginnings of a zombie.

I'm surprised your not looking for video!

I've just checked, despite there being mains cold water, the electric shower deosn't seem to be working. So tomorrow morning I will be rough, cold, tired and smelly!

Night, night!

Oil filled electric radiators are a god send some times.... you know the ones.......

2nd that. I've got two for emergencies such as that.

It was probably the thought of paying for the heating made you come over queasy like, you're not sick at all.
