Apart from the usual fear we all have..giving a speech at your daughters wedding ...i found myself in a similar position the other week....

Having just got back from an installation in S America, i had to update the MD et al on how it went, what needed to be done etc etc etc.

I wasnt expecting it ...errr, errr, it took me a few seconds to get my direction, then no problem.

Speaking, we all do it, but sometimes its like torture.

Can I add snowboarding and skiing to the list too? Flippin stupid sports...bah

M150 - Data, Computing and Information.

Going to bore me silly, can't see anything on the course guide that I don't already know. But I want to get my degree eventually so I'd better start now.

Start my new job on Monday too

I'd love to try snowboarding... There's a dry slope near me, but I have a feeling that's not quite the same.

You're gonna get a sore ass learning on a dry slope Andy. Wear lots of padding!

As for me, small talk face to face with strangers. Ah christ, I used to be great at it but as I've grown older it's become nigh on impossible to pretend to be interested.

Tennis is another one - that got binned well early on.

Er, why would you want to do that?

All that stuff about "small talk" being an essential social lubricant is crap, if you ask me. Interesting talk is fine, silence is fine, small talk is just farting through your mouth.

So yes, I too cannot make small talk

Shame, Maggot, I quite fancy a blue Masai...

M150? I think there's some interesting stuff on privacy, surveillance and data protection in that. One of my colleagues wrote it...and that's my specialist area...)

The privacy and data protection stuff is probably things I've already covered, I have to go through tests every year as I work in the financial industry so need to be up to speed with current legislation with regards to that.

However, in my new job I can only go so far up the ladder without a degree, so I'm doing one that is relevant, even if it means covering old ground.

Am sure i'll enjoy the later parts of the module, but block 1 looks like a snoozefest

No sympathy I'm afraid.

I'm currently revising S330 Oceanography for the October exam - now that's hard.

Got my degree through the OU, what a fine institution. Starting to think about doing another course, except I've still got all the couse material from the last lot and I haven't got any room for any more, just can't face more stuff appearing in the hall every few weeks. What the OU needs is a takeback programme. I'd make a shite presenter by the way, I'd swear every couple sentances. And I'd talk really f*****g fast so no-one could follow. What was this thread about again?
