Used to commute 11 miles each way by bike, which took about 40 minutes on average. Now work in a different place and work mostly the other side of London which takes an hour and 10 to get in ( leaving at 5 am) and usually about 2 hours to get home, but it is 47 miles each way - I couldn't cycle that, do a full days work and then cycle home. Probably makes me the biggest wuss ever!
Or it could be like today when my commute is home (Essex) to Southampton and back - approximately 130 miles each way. If I could cycle that I would be challenging David Lopez for his place on the Sky team!

How long is the none-bike commute on the 47 milers, I'd be tempated to give that a go as an hour and 10 in isn't too bad, and who cares how long it takes to get home. I guess in London its all city driving and no fun country lanes though, so understand your feelings!
