Personal view - F1 became unwatchable for me as soon as pit stops were encouraged. How you can go from say 4th to 1st without overtaking anyone on the track, due to the "brilliance of your pit stop strategy" baffles me.....

I prefer motorbike racing, where pit stops are generally not an integral part of the event.

I'd read about the difference in noise and didn't really think it was a big deal until I heard that. They sound like insects buzzing sadly to a lonely death.

Personally I tend to follow V8 Supercars more, it's like touring cars but rear wheel drive and a little bit of rubbing.

Same here, even the races that are boring are fun to watch. I'm not sure about "a little bit of rubbing". More like a lot of pushing.

Well the BOC car did a lovely pirouette before landing on its roof in the first event.

I think this season will be more interesting and competitive than the last few! It's a fair raft of changes but I like that the sport is moving with the times. I'm unsure about the new sound of F1, although having been to the Hungary one last summer, I could have done with slightly less volume, just having the ear defenders off for a few seconds was painful. I reckon Hamilton and Rosberg are going to clean up this year, annoying since they're both creeps.

They are working towards meeting the Nissan Leaf in the noise spectrum.



Now there's a thought. Formula Leaf races.....

Give them a few years and the marshals will run out, roll it on it's wheels and send it on it's way. While Safety is no.1 they have a balanced attitude. This is good for everyone. Plus they actually overtake!!!
