to introduce yourself so I am here. Liking my riding which is mostly done at just above walking pace and involves a lot of stopping 'for that nice view' of things like car parks on hills these days. I find speed results in unsightly efforts and grunting for a man of my age.

I'll just have a look around.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Afternoon. Welcome from powys. I agree. Going slow is more dignified, especially in this heat. Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome. I was listening to the radio in the car yesterday afternoon and that Claire Balding Rambling programme came on. It's usually auto-pilot radio but the guest walker yesterday was an expert at ''reading'' the land, navigating by nature, as it were. His point was that he got more out of a short walk and learned more about the world around him than he would with a long one. So, stop, look, listen and learn. There must be many things to learn about car parks on hills that you've never dreamt of!

I also prefer a nice steady ride ! makes no sense with all that rushing about. So welcome @Ansome and enjoy your stops for those "nice" views where ever they may be.
