Getting old but not past it
Painting spare bedroom and bathroom ceiling ( been told by the boss to get it done this week end). Did a bit of D.I.Y but been told I did it wrong so must buy another bit of wood ( not today ) and have another go in the near future. Wearing shorts today but thinking of putting trousers on soon to ascertain who the boss really is. Oh, went to Aldi too and got some gloves and base layer vest. My wife just come back from buying bread and presented me with a brand new tray and roller. Wonder what the message is? TdY is on now so time to put tools down and relax at last!:okay:

The gentle rhythmic swaying of the bodies does have a calming effect, yesterday I dozed off during the race
^_^ Oh dear,me!Did make me smile.Presumably you ride alone a lot then?Otherwise I visualise you slumped in the middle of the road, gently snoring every few miles:smile:

After my trip to Aldi this morning it finally stopped raining at about 12.30, so I took the opportunity to clean the paths with the new pressure washer that was delivered on Friday. Wow, so much more powerful than the old one which coughed, spluttered, and gave up the ghost last weekend. I love my boys toys like pressure washers, hammer drills etc - makes me feel like a real man.

Mrs S then cooked a late brunch of poached eggs on toast, bacon and mushrooms.

Currently camped in front of telly watching the cycling. Contemplating breaking open the beer fridge early. Life's simple but good.... ^_^

Awoken at 6am by the wind battering the rain against against the bedroom window. Pretty much abandoned any thoughts of trying to get out on the bike at that point...
Dog walked in the sort of downpour not seen since we got caught in Hurricane Wilma . Then off to the carnage that was the bike specials at Aldi.
MotoGP watched - I won't spoil the result if you haven't seen it yet, but the race was a bit of a bore-fest.
Now watching the TdY on the box and the sun has come out.
Still, the forecast is good for tomorrow and the bike is fettled and ready to go so its not all bad. :wahhey:

Spent all afternoon watching the tour De Yorkshire then had a bite to eat. Decided to go for a quick spin on the bike.

I fixed the shower door and then cleaned the carpet of a stain and hoovered up under our bed.

Then did the washing, washed the bedding and the rest of the laundry.

Washed the kutchen snd hall floor, did cooked breakfast for me and the wife

Dishwasher wash and empty. Fixed the hoover.

Made a pie for our daughter for a visit this week.

I get bored when I can't get out due to crap weather so I save all the jobs for rainy days.

The wife did knitting and crochet all day.

Licking my wounds after digging up a tree yesterday - felt like I had done 10 rounds in a boxing ring, bloody thing!!

Ate some more of the Victoria sponge I made yesterday:hungry:

Planted some new shrubs where said tree was, and then cycled the 46 mile round trip to have a roast tea with my parents. Now back home and consuming beer.........
