I had 5 too all with honey, lemon and cream, I have some batter left over so more tomorrow
Batter made for later. Do you think that 1pint is enough for 2 people?![]()
Yes it is, but not enough for three. I did the pancakes as usual (2 packets of mix just over a pint) but after Mrs Accy and daughter had had two and the mutt had a little one, there was none left for me!![]()
The first pancake is always an offering to the pancake God as it never works properly.Maz had 4, I had 6and the first one that always comes out a bit iffy, tired now.
Why though... is it that we are so desperate for that first pancake that we don't wait till the pan is warm enough? The first pancake is always an offering to the pancake God as it never works properly.
I don't know but it had been sacrificed since as long as I remember. Why though... is it that we are so desperate for that first pancake that we don't wait till the pan is warm enough?
Just had a quick look. Sainsburys ( I expect waitrose sell it too) sell Betty Crocker 400g pancake mix, containing all sorts of goodness... Egg yolk powder, milk powder, palm fat, dextrose. Works out at £5 per kilo. Their basics range does a batter pudding mix for 39p. Makes 12 yorky puds, but probably half a dozen pancakes, but you add your own egg.'Packets of mix'?!?
