Yes, I've read that too. It's those comical-looking ones that, when you touch their web, start spinning like a washing machine.I read somewhere that the most poisonous British spider is the Harvester spider (the one with the little round body and very long spindly legs). Fortunately its fangs aren't strong enough to inflict a bite on human skin.
