Popped in to Lidl this afternoon for a browse, but I had no cash. I will be returning tomorrow morning to make some purchases!

Anyone know how good the mini-pumps are? The ones with the small gauge? Will be getting the toolkit, and my local Lidl has spoke reflectors, so will be getting a packet or two of them.

They do a humungous 1kg rye loaf for £1.69. Maybe a bit too much salt, but at that price I'm not complaining. As for the cycling stuff though..

I personally think their selection of Euro and Scandinavian foods - biscuits, sauces, hams, etc - are grrreat. Can't get half that stuff in the mainstream supermarches.

Lunchtime yesterday my local Lidl only had red gilets in my size.
A later ride out I made sure my route passed a larger store and an in stock item.

I'm well pleased. The, hopefully away for winter ALDI jacket, as good as it is, still has 'cheap jacket' reflecting on the back.
This Lidl one is like buying M & S, or at least M & S of old where it was always quality without labels.

I just been to Lidl. I was going to get a track pump, but sold out. Probably all be on Ebay tonight. I got a pair of gloves, size 9. Very rarely find any to fit my hands. I also bought a mini pump with gauge. Cheap enough to take a chance with. Now going over to Waltham Abbey with Mrs. C so will pop into Lidl over there.

Edit: Got a track pump at Waltham Abbey. So far I wish I hadn't bothered, what a load of rubbish. Unfortunately it would cost more to return it than I would get in refund. You need to be a muscle man to push the plunger down, then it goes down as if going down steps rather than smoothly. By the time I had pumped up my tyres I wouldn't have the energy to ride the bike. Do they get easier with use does anyone know, or would a smear of grease around the plunger help?

Got a couple of jerseys (last of the mediums), pump, saddle bag accessory kit, waterproofs, computer.

Impressed with the waterproofs - decent fit, not too baggy. Jerseys seem decent quality, and the accessory kit was a bargain, particularly when you can easily pay £15 for just a bag.

Not really sure how to fit the computer. The magnet part kept hitting off my fork, and there was no part that was had a wide enough gap to prevent this happening. Confused. Anyone know I was doing wrong? Or is it just that my particular carbon fork is thicker than the norm?

As I was unwrapping my jersey I noticed that the packaging blurb said it was a 2-piece set. Imagine my surprise when I picked the jacket up and 2 armwarmers fell out! I was only expecting 1 armwarmer...

They've got some more cycling stuff in from the 19th, including spoke reflectors and a couple of tool kits: link

Am I right in thinking Lidl have done their Spring cycling gear, and we're now waiting on Aldi to announce theirs?

That's where the excitement is!

Nothing I want. The tool-kit is quite good. I got one a couple of years ago. Not used everything yet. The BB adjustable cup tools are crap but everything else seems good. Got a work-stand last year but not in this sale. (Look out for them next time.) I use this most weeks either for fettling or cleaning duties.
Only managed 1 S/S jersey last time (without the arm warmers) nothing else in my size in the 2 shops I visited.
Waiting now for the Aldi sale, shouldn't be long, as I find their clothing is a little better.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I supose they must know what sells, but recently there has been less and less of interest. A bit too mountain-bikey for me - and why no 'small' size? I'm waiting for Aldi too.
