I've got a baby elephant, but it won't wash the car...

    Apologies for the poor quality of these, but I couldn't get close enough to get a really good shot.
    Anyway, fill your boots.
    I'm talking to you, Arch!:biggrin:

    I was quite pleased with that one. It was hard to balance taking photos with looking and going 'Aaaah';).

    It was, it was. I was actually about 10 yards from them, I just got lucky with the zoom lens. Not bad for a small digital compact.
    Now, the elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka, I got that close to them *holds up thumb and finger, touching* they were gorgeous! *glees*. And I bathed a few in the river.

    Sadly all the photos (and I got loads) were on the hard drive that blew up.

    oh! oh! OH!

    Want! WANT!

    Something about the way they hold each other's tails...

    And in that first pic - that baby looks so... earnest - like it's really concentrating on getting on and being an elephant....

    <sigh>

    Wish I had an elephant....

    I got to ride on an elephant when I was in Nepal a few years ago. Absolute magic, right up until we stumbled across a mother rhino and her baby. She was not at all pleased to see us!
