I like that line - self deprecating humour and irony, my faves.Have you considered writing?!
No, I haven't and being semi-illiterate, there's no chance of that happening any time this linoleum.

High stress levels and depression must be a threat to you.
I really do feel sorry for you.
I hope things turn around for you in the near future.

well, at least you have a job - I've been out of work since November 2012 and with 2 small kids that isn't good at all. And because my wife earns more than £105 per week we are not entitled to any benefits at all either - go figure!
EDIT, well we do get working tax credits but that isn't much
I've already applied for funding to a research council via the university (twice); competition for funding is completely insane now, and I've not had any success even though my proposals always get very positive reviews. This route is a real no-go these days, and with a turn around time of 6-12 months each time..... RDF isn't my line of research, so my chances would be close to zero - I've tried things like this in the past. Are there any research projects in your field that you could investigate to apply for funding, to take to a university as a package?
The sustainability market is strong and there are loads of government funded training companies awash with Regional Development Fund money sitting unused... you could approach invest4growth- your local council Economic Development Officer would be able to identify companies with RDF funding.
not easilyIs there any way you could link a research idea to a commercial application and get sponsorship? I know that's how my B-in-L gets sponsor's funding for sports science research.
isotope hydrogeochemistry@e-rider what is your old job as in what did you research ?
[Edit: saw you wrote isotope hydrogeochemistry.... you couldn't explain that in English could you?Someone I work with set up as a consultant to innovation companies assisting with research and development... depends what your field of research is?
] Just googled it... so I know what the words mean now but thinking it through what industrial or commercial applications could you apply to it to get a company interested?it's a mix of chemistry, physics and (hydro)geology[Edit: saw you wrote isotope hydrogeochemistry.... you couldn't explain that in English could you?]
yes, like that, but I've never worked in Africa before! So African sub-continent groundwater research to source irrigation through deep-drilling...?
Wow , that sounds like it could be good? But you'd need to travel....
