Well the kilt has certainly livened up my social life.

I've got an invitation to a summer ball providing I wear the kilt and full regalia. Who am I to refuse?

What type of kilt pattern are you meant to wear if you don't have a 'clan'? e.g. you are Asian or Chinese or English? Or shouldn't us lot be wearing them?!
I'm Chinese and have always wanted to move to Scotland, something has drawn me there for as long as I can remember. My first wife was a Scot on her father's side, I was going to use her tartan. Current squeeze is all Scot. I could use hers from any of her ancestry but I am tempted to come up with my own just to be difficult and so that no one can say it isn't real.

Nah, I wouldn't go. They are only after one thing. Watch out for people wearing Patent leather shoes loitering near you while distracted by something on the ground.;)

Andy you never struck me as a shortarse. That other guy must be about 7 feet tall ;) You should've picked someone shorter than you

I'm 5'11" but my best man, Scott, is 6'5". I've got another photo from my wedding day of all the guys that were wearing kilts - I'm one of the shortest. Both of my wife's brothers are over 6'

Ahh, our reception was at the Popinjay too :0) Back then it still had the massive lawn next to it and we got pictures taken next to the river. I had always assumed that they owned that lawn until it got horribly overgrown. Turned out they only got the use of it, someone else had bought it and stopped them. One day when my father and mother in law were there a helicopter landed on the lawn and two guys got out and went in for lunch!

Not been there for ages. We used to go for dinner on our anniversary but we got fed up of the food always being rubbish!

Yeah, wedding ceremony and reception at the Popinjay. It was a good day:smile:

Not been for ages either. The Sunday lunch they do is popular with the 'Sunday driver' fraternity. Hotel now has a big leisure club which has taken a lot of the grounds.

Further to Renard's post I believe Barry Ferguson has bought it
