Don't know if I should like them, but I just can't!

Jazz - hate it with a passion - it's just a load of instruments being played loudly out of tune at the same time.

Any film with Tom Cruise and Leonardo Capricosa.

Haute cuisine - pile it high, not effing artistic!

Whisky.

Agreed. Except Brecht and Weill of course.

And Bugs Bunny in 'What's Opera Doc' and 'The Rabbit of Seville'.

I love loads of opera - the music can be sublime.
Then they go and spoil it all with that contrived warble they call singing

They really should just shut up and let you listen to the music.

Agreed. Except Brecht and Weill of course.

Although, I am not sure I would call that 'opera'... but then I like West Side Story and Porgy and Bess too - those things on the edge of popular song, jazz and opera - and as far across as things Singin in the Rain. I draw the line in that direction some distance before we get to Andrew Lloyd Webber. And Grease.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Opera. Just about all of it, but particularly soprano singers grate on me. I like bits of operas, but I can't sit through the generally stupid stories and the endless filigreed arias.

Stupid stories?! What's stupid about a pair of lovers disguising themselves in order to get off with each other's girlfriends? Or a statue coming to life to drag a rake down to hell? Or a birdcatcher kissing an old woman who reveals herself to be his mate?* Pah!

On a more serious note, if you want an opera with a compelling story, great music and not a soprano in sight, try Billy Budd.

*Cosi fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Zauberfloete. All three are Mozart at his finest. Yes, the stories are nonsense (and in the case of Zauberfloete completely incomprehensible), but oh! the music!

Difficult one for me as I don't ever think I 'should' like anyone... but I think I get the drift of the question.

For me, there are a couple of names that come quickly to mind; Matisse and The Who. The former I think is a wallpaper designer and the latter, well, I just don't see it as others do.
absolutely a wallpaper designer.

Kate Moss. I just don't get what it is that's meant to be so great about her.

She's stunning in my view.

Mine have to be coffee and tea, I always feel as though i should drink them, but i've never had the urge. Whenever I go to a coffee shop with my GF and her friends, I end up having a green tea, and they think thats odd.

I'm not a fan of Jazz or Jazz singers but I do like most other music in small doses. However, Del's mention of Eartha Kitt reminds me of the time I saw her on stage in Perth (Australia) and the whole performance was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
