Rigid Raider said:We got a brief respite from the rain yesterday afternoon when I was doing other things and couldn't get out. Now I have a free Sunday stretching ahead of me and it's pouring. Think I'll fit the mudguards and give the bike a good spruce up and maybe even nip down the road to see how well they work but as for going out for a proper ride.... I despair.
Maybe it's time to find a local Joe Bloggs gym and go and do some upper body work once a week?
another one who's shelved cycling in favour of doing indoor sport most days for the winter. Coming on as well, been asked to play for a team, got a match this afternoon in fact. Swimming in the morning as well before work to keep the fitness up when i get up in time.
Probably the other thing that keeps me going is that i'm spending quite a bit of time mechanicking swopping my bike over from my scott to the nice steel 531 that used to be my fixie, and the fact that my planned summer 2010 roadie events reads like a who's who of who's anybody.
Still MTBing at the weekend going though, trying to do every weekend - only missing this weekend 'cos i've got a match.
Was up your neck of the woods actually last weekend, gisburn forest. top loop's muddy (including the massive berms which have got lots of corrosion and a big wheel trap that people gone before have carved), but the bottom loop was good. Stayed at dog and partridge in tosside, absolutely superb place. It's basically a dedicated MTBers pub, probably one of the only ones in the country. Can't recommend it highly enough!
